Why Regular Manicure Matters
Manicures are often seen as purely cosmetic, but from a nail health perspective, they serve a functional purpose.
The nail is made of layers of keratin that grow continuously. Without proper care, these layers can separate, leading to peeling, splitting, and brittleness. Controlled buffing, when done correctly, removes dead surface cells and stimulates circulation to the nail bed, which can improve the quality of new nail growth.
Cuticle care is equally important. The cuticle forms a protective seal between the nail and surrounding skin, helping prevent bacteria and irritation from entering the nail area. When neglected, cuticles can become dry, torn, or overgrown, compromising that barrier. Proper cuticle work, whether through gentle pushing, precise trimming, or hydration, helps maintain a healthy nail environment.
We perform wet manicures, dry manicures, and deep cuticle care using the Russian (Slavic) manicure method, depending on the condition of the nails and skin.
Consistent manicure maintenance also reduces breakage and uneven growth. This is not about aesthetics alone. It is about maintaining nails that grow evenly, stay strong, and resist damage over time.
